Constant temperature anemometry mass flow control

M+W Instruments present a new type of thermal mass flow meter and controller, based on direct flow measurement using the constant temperature anemometry (CTA) principle, using no by-pass stream.

M+W Instruments, previously known as Manger + Wittmann, was founded in 1988, as a manufacturer of equipment for thermal mass flow measurement and control. The company manufacturing and service centre is located in Garching, a town close to Munich, Southern Germany. In 1995 the company introduced a new type of thermal mass flow meter and controller onto the market, based on direct flow measurement using the constant temperature anemometry (CTA) principle.

This technique uses no form of by-pass stream, the measurements are taken from probes in the main flow line itself.

Manger + Wittmann became a member of Bronkhorst High-Tech B.V.

from Ruurlo in The Netherlands in 1997: Bronkhorst are one of the leading companies in the field of mass flow measurement and control, and saw the M+W techniques as complimentary to their own technology.

With their specialised knowledge of thermal mass flow measurement principles and production techniques the original M+W design was developed further.

Recently M+W have sold over 1,500 flow meters and controllers per annum, with a total turnover of over 1 Million Euro.

We have 6 employees in Garching, Germany and we work through 17 sales agencies all over the world.

We believe it is the skill of our employees and the flexibility of our design team that provide our competitive edge.

All our products have unique features that differentiate us from our competitors.

We are providing solutions to applications in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, semiconductor and gas industry, supplying some large OEM customers.
